I brought my 1966 Australian made beetle 11 years ago as a wreck. I spent 5 1/2 years restoring it with no help from anyone except YouTube videos.
My bug is running 14-inch rims and tyres all round with red and white wall inserts, the interior is suede with my own embroidered flames on the hood lining which I took photos of and sent to America for some matching door panels to be made up. I’m running a 1770cc engine with a 120cam, best time on the 1/8 quarter mile 12.32 seconds.
I normally go to a show and shine in Queensland at least once a week as it may win a trophy or two, we go Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. This car has literally changed my life.
